Connor is a professional, full-time coach, and sports scientist. He has been with trainSharp since 2018 and has a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiology. Connor has a real passion for sport and sports performance. When coupled with his wide-ranging practical experience, his knowledge and application of the science with a critical methodology and extensive analytical skills is at the forefront of his thinking and make him a highly versatile all-round coach. Connor has coached individuals to success across multiple disciplines and at all different levels, as well as specialising in time trial and triathlon coaching. He is always hands-on, taking care of the details and his athletes’ goals as his own. Additionally, he has published research in ergogenic aids in cycling time trials and is a qualified British Cycling level 1 coach.
Connor has special interests in aerodynamics, strength and conditioning and nutrition and is a strong advocate that it’s not just about the bike but the whole package that counts. This stems from his own background of helping countless riders improve their cycling aerodynamics in time trials, with position fits and equipment changes, implementing strength and conditioning plans and providing practical nutrition advice. Connor thrives on being able to share his extensive knowledge and experience to help develop others.
In terms of his own cycling aspirations, he has raced in most disciplines – including XC MTB, Cyclocross, Track and Time Trials – not to exclude running Marathons. At the time of writing, he is the current South-East Regional champion in XC MTB and has big targets ahead. These comprise of riding the South Downs Way Double, completing an Iron Man, and gaining his XC Expert license.
